Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. At Journey Elgin, we strive to live life in Christ and to impact His kingdom. Members of our congregation are involved in a variety of ministries. We welcome anyone to join us in impacting His kingdom in any of the following ways.

Mission Trip to Honduras

Each summer, we send a group to La Puerta, a small village in Honduras. With each visit, we focus on a different aspect of life we can help the village with. In 2018, we built a playground for the children of the village. In 2019, we focused on health and well-being screenings and education. We pray, sing, learn, and grow with the villagers, and look forward to the trip every year.

Journey Kidz or Nursery Volunteers

Journey Kidz takes place every Sunday during church for children from three years to 12 years old. Children play games, watch vidoes of other children around the world, sing songs, and learn about God’s love for them. We have a nursery available during Sunday worship for families with children from birth to three years old. Journey Kidz and nursery volunteers must complete a background check.
Ministry Team

The Journey Elgin Ministry Team serves the church through various activities in and around our building. One Sunday per month, help make an impact by setting up, serving, and greeting our guests.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Volunteers manage the screen, record the sermon to be uploaded to our website and church app, and oversee the sound equipment during Sunday worship.

Veteran and Civil Servant Appreciation Lunch

All civil servants, veterans, and active military are invited to lunch each May as a way for the community to say thank you for serving Elgin and our country. Journey Elgin members donate lunch items and volunteer at the event.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, and any special requests. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT A PRAYER REQUEST – it’ll go into a prayer cloud (is there ongoing maintenance for this?)
